Summer Summer
I don’t know about summer in your locale, dear reader, but here in our home near Tampa, it is HOT. Yet, the show must go on. Whether you’re sweating glued to your a/c, waiting out a tropical storm indoors, or baking in summer activities like frolicking in the sunflower fields, we’ve got something you’re going to love.
You’re going to need something light to wear.
Kaftans*, anyone? Eco Club does the heavy lifting for us and vets a whole slew of eco-conscious small businesses to include on their site. An airy kaftan will keep you cool whether you choose a subtle chambray or a vivid tropical print.
Or maybe a sundress is more your speed. Linen is everywhere right now and such a good summer fabric.
*some items may have shifted during flight in the years since that post was published, but it’s still good!
When it’s time to swim:
You’re going to need a swimsuit, some sunscreen & after sun, a towel, a beach bag, waterproof jewelry that won’t tarnish, a good book, and some handy beach/pool snacks.
A challenge for you!
Go find somewhere near you that serves homemade ice cream (or similar, according to your preference and locale).
Go support their small business.
Tell us about it. Attach a picture. We’re always looking for quality photos to feature.
Can’t forget about the bugs (they won’t let you)
This beloved floral bugspray is a pleasant non-toxic way to say, “Stay away”. While you’re over there, some beautiful floral skincare may just fall into your shopping basket. Speaking of flowers, did you know they can color your hair??
For that sun-dazed nap:
Find some shade and a hammock, and you are golden. After your siesta, wipe away the nap drool and wash up with handmade soaps and body wash — there is even shave soap for the menfolk.
Happy summer days, friends.
